Wow! I thought the first book in this series was good but this one just topped it. I absolutely love how the authors are able to literally weave a crime drama and an age play story together and make it work so well. Henry is the sweetest Little - especially considering what he's had to overcome in his life. Becoming deaf at the age of 14 and suffering from serious medical conditions, he dreams of a Daddy that can love and spoil him - despite his issues. Caden is a victim's rights lawyer and a Daddy without a boy. When they meet it's a match made in heaven - if they can protect Henry from the family that tried to kill him and learn to trust in each other. I was completely sucked into this story from the start. So much research and detail is apparent - from the world building to the historical context to the supporting characters. Everything fit together perfectly and created a thrilling story that absolutely captivated my attention. I'm completely hooked on this series and am eager to jump into the next book. Definitely 5*! So good! This caught my attention, mainly because Henry have disabilities and I liked the first book in the series.Henry was all sweetness with a bit of a stubborn streak to him and Caden was soft and still able to handle an unruly little and a cat with a mean streak.What makes this not a five star read is the copout on the plot.It insinuated several times that things will happen that's got to do with Henry's family, but in the end there is nothing, and we just get an update on what happens to them.The plot of the first book was part of why I liked it, it had substance to it, this just fizzled out to nothing and it disappointed me.Not to mention that for being someone that's been in hiding for twelve years, Henry was quick to trust Caden.I wanted more than it could give me.
